What are lessons like?

Music is a joyful pursuit, and private lessons begin and end with that sentiment in mind.  Individual lessons are tailored specifically to each student.  I use a combination of lesson books, technical studies, and solo repertoire.  Each student sets regular learning goals, learns effective practice strategies and, with my guidance, has the opportunity to choose solo pieces in a variety of musical styles.  The end result is that every student builds the necessary skills and technique to choose, practice and perform music that they find interesting and enjoyable.

How long are lessons?

Lessons are typically 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on age, skill level and amount of material being covered per class.

How frequently do lessons take place?

Once every week is the most common.  Lessons typically take place weekdays in the afternoon or evenings.

Where do lessons take place?

Either Online or at my Studio in Redding, California.

How do online lessons work?

Online music lessons offer the benefit of quality instruction in the comfort and convenience of your own home.  Lessons take place over Zoom or FaceTime (video call).  The rest is the same as in-person.  We even have online Recitals!
